Visiting Medellin, Colombia
Medellin is one of South America's best-kept secrets! You won't find a better vacation destination with friendly people, bargin prices and Spring-Time temperatures 365 days a year. Medellin is the place to visit, meet new friends, and have fun!
Medellin is becoming the destination of choice for many new and seasoned travelers. The Government expects over 3,500,000 people to visit Colombia in 2013. This is a dramatic increase from years ago when Pablo Escobar was living (1990's) in Medellin and tourism was non-existent.
Many professionals in the travel industry already see it as the next hot tourist and retirement destination in the Western Hemisphere. Medellin Travelers come back from Colombia raving about the beauty of this country and its hospitable, friendly people. No wonder, what's not to love about the magic of Colombia's mist-shrouded mountains, charming colonial cities and green stretches of rain forest and the low cost of living!
Where to Stay: El Poblado is without a doubt the best area to stay in, especially for the first time visitor to Medellin. El Poblado is where you will find "Parque Lleras" (pronounced Parque Jeras) also known as Zona Rosa! It is without a doubt the "in-spot" for night life, single women, non-stop fun, open-air restaurants, and entertainment. Remember, in El Poblado, you will find the best hotels, restaurants, discos, clubs, casinos, shopping malls and of course the most beautiful and friendly people in the world (map location).

Where to Meet: Parque LLeras (pronounced Parque Jeras) also known as Zona Rosa is without a doubt the best place to meet new or old friends! This is the "in-spot" for night life, beautiful single women, non-stop fun, open-air restaurants, and entertainment.
To get to "Parque Llares (pronounced Parque Jeras), call or hail and taxi and tell the driver “Parque Llares, Por favor". If your staying at a hotel or apartment in the Poblado area (which we recommend) it will be a short ride that will cost the minimum taxi fare of 3,500 pesos. You will know the minute you arrive in Parque LLeras because of its bright lights and party atmosphere. Have the taxi drop you off in the middle of the Parque and walk around until you find a restaurant that you like (map location).
